Description

The Shimano WH-MT620 Front Wheel falls into the SLX series which is the workhorse of the Shimano range. It provides similar levels of performance to the flagship models, only with a small weight penalty and without some of the fancy finishing and surface treatments that you might find at higher price-points.

30mm internal width rims mean that you can run wide tyres and the Centrelock rotor attachment allows for the use of Shimano's Freeza rotors which maximise the cooling potential of your brakes, keeping them feeling consistent under heavy, sustained braking.

    Great wheel for the price.

I can't say how durable this wheel is but it is definitely built well. The rim profile is asymmetric and the spokes were both evenly and correctly tensioned and the wheel runs perfectly true. It's got a little weight to it and is not designed for weight weenie so hopefully that also translates to decent durability. Aesthetically the wheel looks great. I have not found a wheel of equal or better quality at this price point.

Solid enough for my E bike too!

Typically great Shimano quality, fitted a 29” to my ebike to Mullet it, handles Nerang no worries at all so that means they are strong.

Cheers Mtb direct for good service.

    No longer my side squeeze

I bought this wheel for my Trek Fuel Ex8 after discovering someone else needed my front wheel more than me. A stop gap in hopes of finding my original wheel but ive since moved on because this wheel does the trick tenfold.

Out of the box it ran true and was cinch to run a tubeless Goodyear Newton 2.6 tyre on. The build quality if the whole assembly is really good, and the finish looks the part once you strip it of its Shimano pride.

Ive been overshooting a lot of landings at the moment and this wheel is still holding up under my 80kg mass. I was wigging on the 26 spokes, as my bike came stock with 28 - which isnt many to begin with. However, ive been put at ease as the wheel has well and truely held up on some pretty questionable line choices thus far.
