Description

Aerothan is a material that completely redefines bicycle tubes: extremely light, with maximum puncture protection and designed for minimum rolling resistance. This is the high-end alternative to conventional bicycle tubes. The next generation Aerothan tube sets new standards for weight, puncture protection, riding characteristics, easy installation and packing dimensions.

Features:

  • Puncture protection newly defined as the material itself prevents sudden air loss
  • Minimal rolling resistance
  • Extremely heat resistant
  • A stable ride even with low air pressures
  • Easy installation without slipping or pinching

    Far superior to tubeless

With the caveat that I haven't ridden it in super rocky conditions, but have hit some stairs. These tubes are boss, 800% elongation to break!!! I've tested advanced TPU membranes far in excess of their rated pressure and can confirm this claim is real.

As a rigorous test case I have an aluminium rim with a few huge dents in it, the latest dent I did bunny hopping the hard corner of sewer cover with too flat a tyre. Existing dents made it leak and I rode it too flat a pressure. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Have panel beaten them straight and filed off the edges smooth, and re-tightened a few spokes. The rim would be unusable with tubeless, yet this super material has been consistent pressure weeks later. All that sealant that you top up until your tyre weighs 300g extra, or worse the sealant crap hardens in one spot (EG Trek Fuel 29 sealant hardened in one lump as delivered from the factory) which makes your rim out of balance.

IMHO: these tubes will become the fashion and tubeless/sealant will be jettisoned.
