Rockshox Domain RC Debonair B1 Fork

Description

With a long history of going big, the Rockshox Domain has received a makeover and is now an even more formidable force in the long-travel single-crown arena.

With a new burly 38mm chassis, borrowed heavily from the hugely successful ZEB forks, The B1 Domain is even stiffer and stronger than before but remains reasonable in the weight stakes, at a smidge over 2.5kg (not bad for a 180mm fork!). It uses 6000 series aluminium stanchions and the familiar magnesium alloy lowers, with a forged alloy crown and aluminium steerer tube.

The Debonair air-spring is both plush and supple and can be tuned with volume tokens to provide even more progression for big hits, and the Motion Control damping is simple and effective with adjustable low-speed compression with an override blow-off valve and utilizes Maxima Plush suspension fluids from the factory for reduced friction and wear and consistent suspension feel in all conditions.

The Domain RC B1 is E-MTB approved and will fit tyres up to 2.8”, rotors up to 200mm and is available in 15 x 110mm Boost spacing exclusively for both 27.5” and 29” wheel sizes.

Spring type: The Domain uses Rockshox’s Debonair single air spring.

Wheel size compatibility: There are model for both 27.5” and 29” wheel sizes.

Fork offset: 44mm for both 27.5” and 29” models.

• 27.5” - 150mm @ 557mm to 180mm @ 577mm
• 29” - 150mm @ 566mm to 180mm @ 596mm

Max tyre width: The Domain will accommodate tyres up to 81mm or 2.8” wide.

Suspension travel amount: 150mm/160mm/170mm/180mm.

Compression damper style technologies / adjustments: The Domain RC features Rockshox’s proven Motion Control damper providing incremental adjustments to Low Speed Compression as well as a blow-off valve.

Rebound damper technologies / adjustments: Adjustable rebound damping is provided under the RH leg.

Travel adjustability: Travel is adjustable by replacing the Air Spring Assembly (sold separately).

Volume adjustability: A maximum of 3 Bottomless Tokens can be used in the Domain. The 180mm variant comes with 0 installed. The 170mm has 1 installed and the 160mm and 150mm variants have 2 tokens already installed.

Stanchion diameter: 38mm 6000 series aluminium stanchions feature on the Domain for increased stiffness.

Axle size and style: The Domain uses a Maxle Stealth 15mm x 100mm Boost thru-axle in a Hex adjusted bolt style (no QR).

Steerer tube standard: The aftermarket Domain has a 1.5” tapered aluminium steerer.

Lowers materials: Magnesium alloy lowers.

CSU / Steerer tube materials: The Domain features a forged aluminium crown and aluminium steerer tube.

Brake hose clamp / retention style: A full-wrap bolt-on brake hose clamp is included.

Brake mount style: 180mm Post mounts.

Brake rotor compatibility (minimum / maximum): 180mm standard with a maximum rotor size of 200mm.

Pros: A strong and stiff long-travel single crown fork that is plush and supple, with fuss-free damping and enough adjustability to most riders at an amazing price.

Cons: Some may balk at the weight while others may struggle to get their setup perfect with the highly progressive spring rate of a long travel air-sprung fork.
