Park CC-4 Chain Wear Indicator Tool

A worn chain will make your gears shift poorly, create more noise, and wear your cassette and chainrings out more quickly. The Park Tool CC-4 Chain Checker will let you know when it's time to replace your chain so that you can keep your drivetrain running sweet and save some money on replacement parts.

Who's this item for: Anybody who wants to keep their bike's drivetrain running smoothly.

Chain compatibility: Works with 5 to 12 speed chains.

How does it work:

• Insert the hooked tip behind one of the inner rollers
• Lower the rear tip into the chain and maintain pressure to keep the hooked tip snug against the inner roller
• Lower the front tip into the chain with gentle pressure. If you are able to insert the tip up to one of the indicators it's most likely time to replace your chain.

11 and 12 speed chains: Replace at .5%
5 to 10 speed chains: Replace at .75%

Pros: Simple and easy to use. Instructions are printed in the tool so you'll never forget how to use it.

Cons: Some similar tools also have some handy hooks to help take the tension off the chain when you're breaking or rejoining it. The CC-4 does not have this feature.
