Description

A Threadless, no tap install option that lets you store the EDC V2 Tool inside your stem/steerer tube without threading your steerer tube. The Threadless Carrier replaces your star nut and lets you preload your headset with a bolt, while also creating a space for the EDC Tool. Easy to install in less than 10 minutes.

This is the carrier only. The EDC V2 Tool is sold separately HERE.

Who's this item for: Riders that don't want to have to tap a thread on their steerer tube in order to install the EDC Tool.

Tool Compatibility: Compatible with EDC V2 Tool only (You must use the small EDC V2 Storage Capsule with the Threadless Carrier.) The tyre plug and bacon strips fit within the small storage capsule.

Chain pliers are not compatible with the threadless carrier setup. The EDC Threadless Carrier is NOT compatible with V1 EDC Tools (Green Multi-Tool)

Incompatible forks: Fox 38 with oval steerer (will need to tap a thread in the steerer and use the standard EDC installation), RockShox 35 Forks (Gold, Silver etc), Giant Overdrive 2 Forks. Cannondale Lefty Forks. Carbon Steerers

Steerer Tube Length: Most forks are compatible, except for a small number of forks with very short steerer tubes. For the following cases, your fork steerer tube length must meet the minimum length requirement.

  • Fox except Fox 38 with oval steerer = 190mm min
  • RockShox Forks = 220mm min
  • All other compatible forks = 190mm min

Measure from the underside of your fork crown to the top of your spacer stack, or top of your stem if you are not running any spacers above your stem.

    Great EDC for multitool

Great product from OneUp. Easy to install just have to select the correct size bolt for your steerer tube and you are good to go. Seems like it is a lot less hassle than the threaded carrier. Stores the OneUp multiple tool in your steerer tube. A little on the expensive side but it's a very cool little gadget.

Threadless carrier does fit into Fox 38 Performance forks!

Firstly, this as a piece of equipment to hold the OneUp Components EDC Tool is 5/5. Works perfect, tool fits in snug (doesn’t rattle or feel like it can fall out whilst on a shuttle rack or on a descent) but it also doubles as a plug to cover the hole on the bottom of your steerer tube which is a nice addition. The installation of this carrier is super straight forward, anyone who has done the slightest amount of adjustments on their mountain bike will be capable of removing their top cap / star nut and fitting this carrier. I also haven’t noticed the slight addition in weight to my bike so this is a great piece of insurance to have on your bike to help with any trailside mechanicals you might encounter.

Secondly, do you have Fox 38 forks? If yes keep reading!

The information out on the internet is a little unclear (including on the OneUp website itself) regarding compatibility with Fox 38’s.

    - Fox 38 Elite has an ovalised inner on the steerer tube.

    - Fox 38 Performance Elite has an ovalised inner on the steerer tube

    - Fox 38 Performance has a circular inner on the steerer tube meaning the threadless carrier will fit this extremely popular model of Fox fork.

For the Fox 38 Elite and Performance Elite you will need to use the threaded carrier due to the ovalised inner on the steerer tube.

Here’s a link showing the carrier and tool on my bike with Fox 38 Performance forks: https://youtu.be/fVDbvDCs7Qc
