Description

Maxxis' Shorty is perfect when the conditions take a turn for the worst!

Wet, muddy or very loose conditions is where the Shorty comes into its own. The shorty is often referred to as a "cut spike" tyre, as the knobs are still at a mid height so they won't roll over if you hit a hard patch, but the very open design sheds mud easily.

- Open pattern for ultimate mud shedding

Weight:

The 27.5. x 2.3 EXO TR hits the scales at 865g.

Please note - Wire bead tyres are sent rolled up to minimise shipping costs. The wires in the beads shouldn't get bent during this process, however, if they arrive with a bend, just bend them back til they are straight. It won't affect the performance of the tyre at all.

    Great wet/loose tyre

    This tyre has been the difference between being able to ride some days or not being able to ride at all. It’s the go to for wet/ loose. Comes in very handy on weather beaten east coast trails. Only thing I don’t like is it runs really narrow.

    Great for soft muddy trails

    Open tread pattern gives excellent grip, especially on soft muddy trails. Light weight of the tyre is an added bonus

    Truth on shorty 2nd gen

    I have run the 2nd gen shorty 29 x 2.4 3c both front and rear and in the right conditions its great that is not super sloppy ie wet loam or soft sand i found it rolls pretty well it does fill up in real mud the dirty dan is way better here but is so soo slow its a pity its fairly skinny at 2.4 if you want something fatter the hillbilly is really close and comes in a 2.6 which i have had a good experience on .
