I'd get better puncture resistance from bubble wrap.

For an off road tyre this one rates terribly in my book for puncture resistance. I've had more punctures on 10 weeks than I've had on 30 years.

Yes we have some nasty double gee and calthrop about but if have expected better from a Maxxis tyre. Very disappointed.

On a side note. Keep the tyre pressure up on these as soft tyres are going to cause problems. A soft tyre as a result of yet another puncture resulted in me dropping the bike on a slow left turn. The front tyre rolled and lost traction on the bitumen surface and I quickly found myself on the deck.

    So far, so good

I have come from a 2.6" Assegai on the front of my enduro and am very comfortable with the grip and confidence I have cornering in most trail conditions. So, running the Rekon on the front of my hardtail for the first time was a bit of a leap of faith (particularly at speed). It held up well and, although the trail I rode was nothing like the chaos I ride my enduro down, seemed to grip well on dry/loose over hard. I'll take it out again and send it with a little more faith in it, as it gave me no reason to doubt it. The low roll resistance was a pleasant change. Obviously a good tyre for moderate trail/xc riding.
