Description
The Re-Fuse is Maxxis' most popular training tyre, designed for crushing gravel and hardpack dirt. This tubeless-ready tyre is equipped with bead-to-bead puncture protection and will fly along the trails with next to no rolling resistance, but don't expect any forgiveness when conditions get a little slick or loose.
Who's this for: Riders wanting to ride gravel and off-road, for a gravel-specific bike or potentially converting a road bike to do so.
Suggested terrain: Strictly for gravel and hardpack dirt only. Not recommended for loose or technical terrain.
Which wheel: Runs well on both front and rear.
Rim width:
- 27.5 - As this tyre is only a 2 inch, we'd recommend a narrow rim, probably no more than 22mm.
- 700c - This tyre is a 40c width and is designed to fit a standard road bike wheel. We'd recommend a minimum 19mm rim width (21mm would be the sweet spot)
Weight:
- Black / 40c / 700c - 520g
- Skinwall / 40c / 700c - 531g
- Black / 2.0 Inch / 27.5 Inch - 610g
Skinwall/Dark Tan Wall tyres: Maxxis has made a running change to replace all Skinwall tyres with the Dark Tan sidewalls. During the transition phase, there is a chance that stock from our suppliers may contain a mixture of both sidewall types so you may receive a shade that is different from what you expect. If this does happen please get in touch and we'll do our best to get you sorted with the option you'd prefer ASAP!
Pros: A fast-rolling, lightweight gravel & hard-pack-specific tyre that will outpace all your mates in the right conditions.
Cons: Minimal grip. Things will get slippy very quick in wet, muddy or loose conditions.
