Description

The Maxxis Minion DHF is the winningest downhill tyre (and also the most copied!) on the world cup circuit.

Don't let the DH in DHF scare you though, it's also found on the front of many enduro and trail riders bikes too. With its big moto-esque style square knobs the Maxxis Minion DHF is at its best on medium to hard pack surfaces, though is a great performer on most terrain. The famous Minion DHF side knobs are so damn good, Maxxis even used them on the Minion Semi Slick and Minion DHR2.

The Maxxis Minion DHF was originally designed as a front specific tyre, but has been used front and rear by countless pros in both the EWS and the World Cup Downhill races.

For a wicked trail tyre combo, run a Minion DHF on the front, with an Ardent or a 2.35" version of the Ikon on the back.

For a top Enduro set up, you can either run the Minion DHF front and rear or run it on the front with an Aggressor, Minion Semi Slick or the Minion DHR2 on the back.

If you mainly ride technical and frequently wet trails, you may want to check out the Maxxis Highroller 2.

Features:

  • Big Square knobs for lots of grip.
  • Great in a variety of conditions but excels in dry to damp, hard to medium soils.
  • Options for trail bikes through to downhill bikes.

Please note:

  • Skinwall/Dark Tan Wall tyres: Maxxis has made a running change to replace all Skinwall tyres with the Dark Tan sidewalls. During the transition phase, there is a chance that stock from our suppliers may contain a mixture of both sidewall types so you may receive a shade that is different from what you expect. If this does happen please get in touch and we'll do our best to get you sorted with the option you'd prefer ASAP!
  • 'WT' stands for Wide Trail. These tyres were designed around use with 35mm internal rims. However, riders utilising narrower rims (ourselves included) have still found them to perform exceptionally. If your rims are narrower than 24mm internal, you may find them to roll and squirm under hard cornering. Minion DHF 2.6" tyres don't have the WT designation as they are designed to run on 35mm internal rims at a minimum.
  • Wire bead tyres are sent rolled up to minimise shipping costs. The wires in the beads shouldn't get bent during this process, however, if they arrive with a bend, just bend them back til they are straight. It won't affect the performance of the tyre at all.

The best rear tyre I have ever ran and would keep it as my main rear tyre for grip and fast flowing through tracks and jumps

Reliable Front Tyre. Does It's Job.

I keep coming back to this front tyre. I'll try Schwalbe again for a while but find the DHF rolls a bit faster overall.

    HAVING A TAN IS SEXY

I became an assguy several years ago but was always DHF up to the point I got the taste. About a year ago I got a trail bike that came stock with DHF. I forgot how good it was, a good allrounder, great control and durable. Needing new tyres, I got the tan walls because they look fully sic bro and they kill the insides of serious senders.
