Description

Using adjustable wrenches and standard chamfered sockets usually lead to one thing, mangled top caps.

Thankfully, Fox has released their own top cap sockets. These chamfer-less sockets are compatible with 3/8" drive wrenches and allow you to remove the top cap with ease and torque it back up to spec when you're done.

If you do regular fork service or have mangled a top cap, then you know how important these sockets are. Available in different sizes depending on your fork.

Sizes:

26mm:

  • Air Side: Float 32, Float 34 (2016+)
  • Damper Side: Float 32, Float 34, Float 36 FIT4 3-Pos, all CTD cartridges
  • MPN: 398-00-702

28mm:

  • Air Side: Float 34 (2012-2015)
  • Damper Side: Float 34 (2012-2015), all LSC cartridges
  • MPN: 398-00-707

32mm:

  • Air Side: Float 36, Float 38. Float 40
  • Damper Side: All HSC/LSC (RC2) cartridges
  • MPN: 398-00-706

    fork top cap

    It works, just had to improvise with wrench as I dont have the right tool to go with it.

    Great tool, but it's just a simple socket.

    If Fox made their top cap a bit taller, or if socket manufacturers made their sockets flat, then I wouldn't have to buy this. But on an expensive fork I'm not taking the risk of damaging the top cap, so I bought it. It fits my socket wrench so no issues there. 5 stars for quality and usefulness, just dropped a star due to the price. It seems expensive for what it is, albeit necessary if you want to change the number of tokens in your fork.

    Use it or round it off, up to you

    Quality tool as you would (should) expect from fox and definitely for this price. Do not use a regular socket for this job, the aluminium is just too soft. When using the fox one, make sure to keep even pressure pushing down to make sure its engaging while turning.
