Description

This tool from Fox Racing Shox is used to remove the lower legs off your fox forks.

The tool screws onto your damper or spring shaft and is then used to knock the damper shafts out.

This is the only safe, recommended way to remove lowers off Fox forks.

It comes as two different versions.

Part Number 398-00-681 - 32, 34, 36, 40mm Air Spring Side + 32mm Damper

Part Number 398-00-682 - 34, 36, 40mm Damper Side Only

    Three Taps and your Playing with yourself Again

    I love that MTB Direct distributes branded parts better than the distributors of those brands in Australia!! This tool is also the epitome of the most enjoyable tool to use ever. It threads on like butter, you release the pain with a hammer and the amount of time and heart ache saved from not having the tool and attempting the task is ridiculous. With two taps of a rubber mallet you really get a deep understanding of why tools even exist, to make our lives easier with little to no collateral damage! Thank you MTB Direct!

    P.S. I still cant live down the moment I completely f#$ked my Fox 32 as a kid...

    Do you need it?

    Well I got it, figured I'd buy all the tools, as to get someone else to do the job it was going to cost quite a bit more. But it only fits one side of the forks, and you have to hit both to jog it out. So one side I used a small ally rod, and one side this tool. Can't say that its really worth the money.

    Fox Damper Tool

    This tool is perfect for the task of removing the lower legs from Fox forks. The price of the tool is expensive but its cheaper then damaging the threads on the lower legs. I have seen videos where they use a aluminium drift but by the time you purchase and machine the drift to suit, I doubt the pricing would be much different. When I removed the lower legs, I screwed the tooling on with about 3 threads showing and just slowly worked each side off.
