Introducing Da Bombs new Rifle Grenade stem, a top-load 2 piece stem. Made out of CNC'd aluminium its equine cut out shape keeps weight to a minimum while maximising strength/using a matt black lower finish the top side colour pops with style.

    It's a stem, but a little different

    I bought this as it fitted a specific purpose - it's low stack and 45mm. With such a slack head angle, and needing to extend the front centre 10mm from the existing 35mm stem, I wanted to keep the bars as low as possible. This stem has a 10mm lower stack then the old one, so the bar height stayed the same after adding the reach. Works well in that regard.

    Rolling the bar is a slight faff compared to a normal stem. You need to undo the top cap and loosen the top steerer bolt as well as the four bar clamping bolts, but as long as you leave the bottom one tight then you won't need to re-adjust the headset tension, so not a major.

    Sure it looks a bit weird, but it looks much better on the bike - it's actually grown on me!
