Description

The BOX Three Prime 9 Speed Cassette draws from both is the sensible all-rounder of the Box range and draws from featured found on both the Box One and Box Two cassettes. Featuring all-steel cogs with a pinned construction. This cassette is available in both 11-46 and 11-50t options and will give you all the same range as your riding buddies on their expensive 12-speed setups. You'll just have to shift a whole lot less to find the right gear.

Who's this item for: This is for riders that have embraced the simplicity and easy setup of 9-speed and need a cassette to run with their Box Prime 9 drivetrain. Not intended for use on e-bikes.

Materials / construction: Stamped steel cogs with the largest ones pinned to a steel spider.

Cog-tooth span:
  • 11-46t: 11 - 13 - 15 - 18 - 22 - 28 - 34 - 40 - 46t
  • 11-50t: 11 - 13 - 15 - 18 - 22 - 28 - 34 - 42 - 50t
Freehub mounting style: Mounts to standard Shimano style HG freehubs. Not compatible with XD or Microspline freehubs.

Other component compatibility: This cassette is compatible with Box 9-speed drivetrains only. Not intended for use with e-bikes.

    Box Three Wide Range 9 Speed Cassette

    Good quality for a budget cassette and it works perfectly for upgrading an older bike to the simplicity of a single chainring setup while maintaining the same gear range that you had with 3 chainrings. The steps between gears are obviously bigger than you'd get with an 11 or 12 gear cassette so it's not as smooth when moving through the gears but that's compensated by having to change gears less and having a much more durable chain. The bigger steps between gears could feel uncomfortable if you're swapping between bikes but for most of us with only 1 bike to ride, you quickly get used to it and it's not an issue.
