BikeYoke Modefixxer For Canyon Strive
BikeYoke Modefixxer For Canyon Strive
- Option:
- Canyon Strive - Pro
It's no secret that Canyon have had some issues with their Shapeshifter on their Strive models.
BikeYoke created the ModeFixxer to replace the shapeshifter and get rid of the remote/cables.
This ModeFixxer ensures is a simpler solution that's never going to fail. It also looks super clean and saves a good chunk of weight.
It's available in 2 different versions:
PRO:
- Pro: 2015-2018 (first generation Strive)
- Pro 2: 2019+ (second generation Strive)
Two geometry modes: DH-Mode and new TR-Mode, which adjusts your geometry exactly between original DH-Mode and XC-Mode.
Weight saving: Approximately 130g to 150g, depending on original remote housing length.
DH:
Compared to Modefixxer PRO, the DH Version offers only one fixed length, cutting off even more weight from your Strive. One geometry mode: DH-Mode which fixes your geometry in original DH-Mode.
Weight saving: Approximately 170g to 190g, depending on original remote housing length.

No issues with the Shapeshifter on the Canyon Strive but as an enduro race bike, it is easier to keep the geometry in DH mode as the head angle is not too slack. Fitting the Modefixxer cleans up the bike and drops some weight. Worth the investment if racing is your focus.

Works as expected. One less cable and switch on my cockpit that I wasn't using (never really worked). The bike is still an unbelievable machine though.

Unf@#%s your shapeshifter. What could be bad about not having to deal with Canyon Customer Service?

Works well! I never used the shape shifter on my bike anyway - I really couldn't notice any difference to pedalling efficiency with it in XC mode once I put an Ardent on the rear so this mod was a no brainer for me to save some weight and simplify the bike. Easy to fit, the hardest part is getting the damn cover off the suspension pivot without damaging either part - bike issue - not BikeYoke issue.
