Built for Real Aussie Trails – Choose Your Grip Advantage

Every trail demands something different. Loose gravel, rock gardens or fast flow, the right MTB tyre changes how your bike handles.

  • Trail Riders: Balanced grip and rolling speed for all-round performance.
  • XC Racers: Lightweight tyres built for speed and efficiency.
  • Enduro & DH: Maximum traction and reinforced casings for aggressive terrain.
  • All-Round Riders: Versatile tread patterns for mixed conditions.

Your tyres are your only contact with the trail, choose the setup that gives you more grip, more control and more confidence on every ride.

How do I choose the right mountain bike tyres for my riding style?

Choosing the right MTB tyres depends on where and how you ride. Cross-country riders typically prioritise low rolling resistance and lighter tyres for speed, while trail and enduro riders look for a balance of grip, durability, and control. Downhill riders benefit from wider, reinforced tyres designed to handle impacts and aggressive terrain. Understanding your riding style helps narrow down tread pattern, casing strength, and tyre width.

Should I choose tubeless or tubed MTB tyres?

Tubeless MTB tyres are popular for trail, enduro, and downhill riding as they allow lower pressures for improved grip and reduce the risk of pinch flats. Tubed tyres are often more affordable and easier to set up, making them a solid option for casual riders or those new to mountain biking. Your riding frequency, terrain, and setup preference will help determine the best choice.

What should I consider when buying mountain bike tyres online?

When buying MTB tyres online, consider tread pattern, casing strength, tyre width, and riding conditions. Filters for wheel size, tubeless compatibility, brand, and price make it easier to find the right option. MTB Direct also offers free shipping over $99 and extended 60-day returns, giving you confidence when choosing the best mountain bike tyres for your bike.
