The Thule VeloCompact platform rack is a compact, lightweight 2-bike or 3-bike carrier that easily clamps to your tow ball and offers a smart-looking, secure and stable solution to your bike transportation needs.

With locks that secure the rack to the car and the bikes to the rack, an integrated lightboard and number plate holder and a 7-pin pre-wired connector, everything you need is here in one neat, complete package. The VeloCompact tilts away from the vehicle even when fully loaded, giving you convenient access to your boot area, and when you don't need it, folds flat for storage.

How many bikes does it carry: There are 2-bike and 3-bike models of the VeloCompact as well as an add-on to increase carrying capacity by one bike.

How does it carry them: Platform racks support the weight of your bike by the wheels. The bikes are prevented from moving fore and aft by ratcheting wheel straps that pull them down into the support platform. A locking arm extends from a vertical support brace close to the vehicle to a rubber-lined clamp that holds your frame and supports the bike in an upright position and prevents it from swaying.

How much weight can it carry:

• 2-bike: 46kg.
• 3-bike: 60kg.
• The maximum weight of any one bike is 25kg.

E-Bike rated: E-Bikes can be transported on the VeloCompact as long as no single bike weighs more than 25kg and the total weight limit is not exceeded.

How does it mount to the car: The VeloCompact is attached by clamping the tow ball. It features a large clamp handle that allows you to easily tighten the clamp down on your tow ball without tools and can be key-locked in place preventing removal from your car.

Does it tilt or swing to gain access to the vehicle: Yes, the convenient foot pedal allows the carrier platform to tilt away from the vehicle even when fully loaded.

What size bikes (wheelbase) can it carry: The VeloCompact will accommodate bikes with a wheelbase up to 1300mm

What is the max tyre size: Recommended for tyres up to 29" x 3"

Does it fold up for storage: Yes, the vertical support brace and bike support arms fold flat against the platform and the wheels cups slide inwards. Folded size: 2-bike 1060W x 660D x 300H, 3-bike 1030W x 720D x 360H

Does it include a lock: Yes, there are locks to secure the rack to the vehicle and the bikes are secured to the rack using the lockable clamps on the vertical support arms.

Does it have an integrated licence plate holder/brake/reverse lights: Yes. The VeloCompact has Tail/Brake/Revers Lights and a number plate holder with integrated light. All pre-wired to a 7-pin round plug.
