The CS-M9101-12 XTR cassette uses Shimano's Aluminium Beam Spider ultralight chassis to carry 3 large precision aluminium gears, 5 titanium gears and 4 steel gears for the perfect balance of weight, strength and durability.
Shimano's proven Hyperglide+ tooth profile is said to provide better chain engagement for the best power transfer, stronger retention for the best chain security, and faster, smoother shifting increasing comfort and reducing rider stress leaving you to focus on your performance. With perfectly timed shifts occurring over significantly smaller crank angles and at lower pedalling forces, it becomes possible to continuously pedal and shift under higher loads with reduced pedal shock with shifting times cut by a 1/3 over current Hyperglide drivetrains.
Designed specifically for use with Shimano Microspline freehub bodies, which use a higher number of smaller and more widely distributed splines to limit cog damage to the lightweight aluminium freehub, the CS-M9101-12 is available in a 10-45T 450% Rythm Step and 10-52T 510% Wide Range variants to give you the ideal gear spread for the terrain you're riding. The new CS-M9101 cassette sees the plastic spacer, which minimises noise, firmly glued to the rear rather than being included separately as with the predecessor CS-M9100.
