With a combination of Shimano's tooth profile and durable materials, the Deore Series FC-M5100 series rings were designed for great chain retention and longevity. Choose from either 30, 32, or 34T versions.

    30 Tooth chainring

    Another great product from Shimano, I changed from a 32 tooth oval ring because I basically have chicken legs compared to the guys I ride with, the 30 tooth helps on the climbs and it fits perfectly onto my XT cranks.

    I highly recommend this chainring

    Quality fit and finish.

    Fit and finish means it truly is an easy bolt togther change with no fuss. Slightly taper-shouldered screws also mean it's pretty much self aligning. I fitted this in a 30T (changing from 32T) to try and get better climb performance out of a 11-42 11-speed XT M8000 cassette on a 29er hardtail. While the climb gears do become easier - it's worth noting that the gear increments feel a lot larger when changing gears in the mid-range and drive gears. Consider the 11-46 cassette instead if looking to resolve a similar issue.
