The Box Two 9 speed chain is BOX's most durable chain in a 9-speed package. This chain is manufactured from hardened alloy steel and receives a nickel plating finish to add corrosion and wear-resistance. The Prime 9 chain also benefits from chamfered edges, solid pins and solid plates to keep things durable.

    Bomb proof

    Crappy shift? No problems, the Prime 9 chain will look up at you and laugh, asking is that as bad as you can give it.

    The Box Prime 9 chain is like the good 'ol days, when stuff was not made of butter and pixie dust - but designed and built to be tough, durable... you know, built for mountain bikers, not cafe latte sippers talking about their latest Stravahole rank. Together with the wide range Prime 9 rear mech, you get a drivetrain that can be hit by a train and keep going.

    Simples.

    Great value for money

    Box Prime 2 chain? I've never heard of them before but took a chance for a chain that needs a bit more length than a standard 114 or 116 link chain. Fortunately the Box Prime folks thought about that and for the sake of saving a miserly amount of chain they have you covered for whatever drive train you use.

    The chain itself is better quality than what the price shows and preliminary chain inspection shows close tolerances and what appears to be a nickel plating, meaning a small improvement in wear abrasion. At the time of writing this chain has done over 900k along equal time on dry and wet dirt trails, some mud and commuting duties on both dry and wet roads. It has been cleaned and oiled regularly and still has not worn to .5mm on a Park tool chain checker. This may easily see more than the original Shimano hg53 chain
