Description

The Unior 617170 Chain Wear Checker is a super handy, easy to use tool that will let you know if its time to change your chain. If you replace your chain early enough you will prevent premature wear to your cassette and chain ring.

Who's this item for: Perfect for the at home bike mechanic, or really anyone who rides that likes to know the condition of their gear.

Chain compatibility: Compatible with all chains.

How does it work:
It's pretty simple to use:
  • Firstly, set the dial of the indicator to 0%.
  • Place the two pins into the chain.
  • Turn the measurement wheel clockwise until it stops.
  • Read your wear percentage.
What the measurements mean:
  • Up to 10 speed chains: 0-0.6% means it is good to use. Higher than 0.6% means its time to replace it.
  • 11 and 12 speed chains: 0-0.5% means it is good to use. Higher than 0.5% means its time to replace it.
Dimensions and Weight: The dimensions are 137 x 25.5 x 20mm and it weighs 168grams.

Pros: Easy to use and gives your wear as an easy to read percentage.

Cons: More expensive than the solid bar type chain wear indicators.
