Description
The Smith Trace helmet is a versatile helmet suitable for use on road, gravel or off-road.
The Trace combines Koroyd and MIPS technologies to offer you reliable protection if the ride gets tough. You'll stay cool when temperatures reach their peak thanks to the internal ventilation channel inlet and outlet ports, which allow air to circulate.
Side channels allow you to safely store your sunglasses when you don't need them, and the AirEvac ventilation system prevents fogging when you've got them on your face.
Who's this item for: This is a great helmet for riders that like to mix it up between pedal-heavy cycling disciplines.
Construction: Complete Koroyd coverage for lightweight, energy-absorbing and ventilated impact protection with an integrated skeletal structure that creates a roll cage for added strength and impact protection.
Rotational liner: The MIPS Brain Protection System reduces the rotational forces that oblique impacts cause on the head.
Straps: Y-Yoke straps with a quick-release buckle.
Retention System: VaporFit adjustment system adjusts the helmet 270 degrees with the turn of a dial.
Ventilation: 18 fixed vents for constant airflow.
Padding: XT2 antibacterial filling helps reduce sweat odours.
Visor: There is no visor on this helmet.
Weight: 280g - Size Med.
Other: CPSC and CE EN 1078 certified.

You know what sucks? Buying things without trying them on. You know what else sucks? Every local bike shop stocking the exact same range of FXX, TRXX or SPECXXXXXXX helmets (and everyone else sporting an Oakley lid).
Having a pretty large noggin (generally fit into the 61-62cm dome size) makes buying things like a helmet, sight unseen, a bit risky. But, I'm glad I did. This helmet is dope. Fits great, got it on special (hey, what can I say, I'm half Dutch) and it doesn't make me look like a mushroom cap (or, think of another object with a similar shape).
I'm usually an all-black, all-the-time kinda guy but glad I branched out for this totally wild white design. looks great with some retina-burning shades and an otherwise all black kit. Haven't clocked up a century or anything in this yet so long term comfort is TBC, but it sure looks good at the local with a piccolo (or pint).
Quality, weight, adjustability are all big ticks for me. If you're not sure, just hit add to cart. With free returns, what do you have to lose? (okay I'm ignoring carbon footprints etc)
