Description
Designed to be super light and stowable, the Sam Hill Lite elbow pads are for days when you want to protect yourself from those inevitable crashes but don't want to wear a bulky pad. While these are a pretty minimalist pad, they still exceed the CE EN 1621-1:2012 standard for level 1 protection so you can rely on them for lightweight to moderate protection against abrasion and impacts. The pads feature a slip-on design with compression square line Ripstop spandex for a lightweight feel, and durable elbow cap fabric for increased protection and wear resistance. The top cuff extends quite high up the bicep and uses an internal silicone strip to keep them from slipping down. The design of the pads allows for complete freedom of movement without any friction or discomfort so you can ride all day and almost forget you're wearing them.
Who's this item for: Seven rate these pads as providing Trail level protection but they would be a great choice for any type of rider looking for a bit of extra upper body protection.
Protection Style: The soft protective pad is made from a visco-elastic foam.
Materials: Compression square line Ripstop spandex for a durable lightweight feel.
Closure or Slip-on: These are slip-on pads with a compression fit. It's critical to get the sizing right with these so you might need to try on a couple of different sizes to find the perfect ones for you.
Length of elbow pad: They should cover part of your bicep and come down to the lower part of your forearm
Weight: 105g pair (size XL)
Protection level: These pads offer light to moderate protection and exceed the CE EN 1621-1:2012 Level 1 standards.
Removable protective inserts for washing: No.
Pros: Super comfy, ride all day pads that provide light abrasion and impact protection.
Cons: These pads rely upon a close compression fit to work properly, and there aren't any straps to make small adjustments. It's critical to get the sizing right with these so you might need to try on a couple of different sizes to find the perfect fit.
If they keep falling down you might need to work on those guns to pump up your biceps a bit!
