Description

The Core is Royal's lightweight gravel and trail short made from 2-way stretch, fast-drying fabric making it the perfect all-around short. The Core shorts feature a fast-wicking, 2-way stretch, Core-Tech Fabric, which offers excellent mobility on the bike and an adjustable belt to ensure they fit 'just right'.

Two easy-access rear pockets and a leg pocket give you the choice of where to keep your phone or that all-important trail snack.

Who's this item for: These are lightweight shorts best suited to Gravel, Trail, and Light All Mountain duties.

    Best of three brands of MTB shorts

    I own and have recently evaluated three different makes of MTB shorts. The Core Shorts offering of Royal Racing are the best. These Core Shorts have two secure back pockets (left velcro closure, right zippered closure) and two top-opening pockets up front. (That is, not side-opening.) When you go into the back-left and front-right pockets, you will find 'mini pockets', useful for coins or some other small items. The shorts can definitely be worn going out because they look neat, or worn casually during the day, not just on your bike. The stretchy fabric that they're made of means they are very comfortable and move with you in the saddle. Essential for me are the belt loops. (A basic belt is included, but I prefer the familiarity of my usual belt.) These shorts are certainly the best constructed of the three shorts I tried. Royal Racing's Core Shorts are #1 for comfort, #1 for functionality and #1 for sturdiness.
