Description

The Cascade is coil spring operated for outstanding durability and low maintenance and features an externally routed cable to fit a wide variety of bikes. The external cable comes from the collar to keep things as neat as possible and it won't get in the way once the post is dropped.

150mm and 170mm options have a larger, stiffer stanchion, and also receive an extra bushing to help fight against 'wobbly post syndrome'.

V3 posts have slightly different packaging than the earlier models and do not come with a remote. The post itself is identical to the previous iterations.

Models stating 1x remote come with a shifter style under bar lever for use with single-ring drivetrains.

Models stating 2x remote come with a remote designed to play nicely with a front shifter.

Who's this item for: The Cascade is a great choice riders that don't have internal routing for a dropper post in their frame. It's a low-cost, low maintenance post that will reliably do its job without you needing to fuss with it all the time.

Actuation style: This is a cable actuated dropper post.

Spring style: The Cascade uses a coil spring for fuss-free performance.

Infinite or finite adjustments: It's and infinitely adjustable post which means it can go all the way up, all the way down, or anywhere in-between.

Internal or externally routed: Externally routed with the cable entering the post at the collar.

Lever included:
  • Models stating 1x remote come with a shifter style under bar lever for use with single-ring drivetrains.
  • Models stating 2x remote come with a remote designed to play nicely with a front shifter.
  • V3 posts do not come with a remote.
Lever mounting options: 22.2mm bar clamp.

Includes cable / housing / battery: The models that state they come with a 1x or 2x remote will include a Jagwire cable kit with 1500mm of housing. This may be too short for your frame, depending on how the cable needs to be routed. We recommend that you check this before ordering.

V3 posts with no remote supplied will not include cable or housing.

Saddle clamp style: 2-bolt clamp for easy saddle mounting and fine angle adjustments.

Weight:
  • 125mm: 608g
  • 150mm: 613g
  • 170mm: 674g

Best mod ever. Long term review. 3 years plus.

Changed my cross country bike into a trail’ish bike by shortening the stem, wider handle bar, wider rims, Maxxis Forecasters, and the all important DROPPER POST. The dropper was the most important change.

Been working flawlessly. Recently completed the Dragon trail (Tasmania) on this older geo bike. You can adjust the height of the saddle on the fly. The flowy downhills are so long, my legs fatigued standing up so I just put the saddle down halfway and cruised.

I ride in mainly dry dusty enviros and never high pressure clean the bike. Do the minimum amount of cleaning and weakest soap (car wash). This way I don’t force dirt into places and don’t mess with the chemistry of the lubricants and greases.

Drop the seat not the bike

Budget friendly, extra neat on bike.

Looking forward to summer riding without snagging pants on seat when adjusting for drops and downhill sections

Simple to install, smooth and robust.

Got this dropper for a Giant Trance 1, 2008 Large model. Fits inside the seat tube no worries but if I was shorter than 1.8m Id be looking for a shorter drop or Id be having to modify the frame slightly to prevent my legs over reaching the pedals on the down stroke. I did a 1x conversion and the extra cable management from the frame for the front derailleur I used for the dropper, external cable routing was the only option for this bike and I found the external housing for the cable a little annoying but over time im sure Ill get used to it. Slight bit of side to side movement on the seat but nothing to write home about, Ive spent the hours on YouTube looking at the right dropper post and this seems to be the best bang for buck, I paired it with the wolftooth dropper lever and the whole set up was simple and smooth the dropper goes down easily and shoots straight up when required. Dont for get the cable as this doesnt come with any.
