Designed with Aussie DH legend Troy Brosnan, the Dissector from Maxxis is made for dry and dusty trails. Calling on Troy's experience pushing the limits on the DH World Circuit, Maxxis took aspects of the ever-popular DHF, High Roller II and the Rekon to create a fast-rolling tyre that still has plenty of cornering grip when you lean into it.

The centre knobs are ramped for better rolling speed but are squared off at the rear so they will grip and not slide under braking. As you transition to the corner, the small knobs will keep you in control before you hit the large staggered outer knobs that provide excellent grip as you really lean it in.

It's the perfect tyre for the loose and dusty trails we have here in Australia!

Who's this item for: This tyre is perfect for Trail, Enduro or DH riders looking for a fast-rolling tyre that still has plenty of cornering traction.

Suggested terrain use: Perfect for use in Loose, Loose Over Hard, Hard Pack, or Medium conditions.

Which wheel: For Trail applications, the Dissector can be used as a front and rear tyre. For Enduro or DH racing, Maxxis recommend using it as a rear only with either a DHF or Assegai upfront for better grip.

Rim width: The wide trail casing is optimised for rims with a 30-35mm inner width.

Weight: The Maxxis claimed weights are as follows:

  • 27.5" EXO: 800gm
  • 27.5"DH: 1133gm
  • 29" EXO: 861gm
  • 29" DH: 1206gm.

Pros: It's basically made for Australian conditions, fast rolling speed with excellent cornering grip in dry conditions. If it works for Troy it will work for you!

Cons: Only available in EXO or DH casing, it would be nice if there was something in between. Not great for riding in deep mud.
