    Great shoes, very firm sole

So, these are my first "proper" mtb shoes so my experience may be different to others. I have only worn skate style shoes up until now. These were on sale for the Black Friday Sales so thought I'd give it a go. My first experience is they are quite heavy with a VERY firm sole. The problem for me is I can not feel the pedals under my feet so am never 100% sure where my foot is. I like it on the ball off my foot but can't feel it. My old skate shoes made this easy.

They are very grippy which is good and they are WAY more heavy duty than the skate shoes. I just wish I had more of a feel under my shoe. Maybe that will come with time and practice.

    Does the job so far

Ive been using etnies shoes for riding purposes for at least a decade and a half now.

These are probably going to be better winter shoes than summer shoes. The fit is a little different to their core range. As they are basically all rubber. Not sure the faux leather on the velcro strap is going to last too long. The laces dont really do anything as they wnd low and the higher cuff is fully supported by velcro. They are reasonbly comfortable for my foot shape. Nothing on Kingpins though that just fit my foot shape well. I essentially bought these because im pretty keen on good roding gear as i am somewhat proficient in the arts of jumping bikes.

Decent shoe will see how the velcro strap goes. I can certainly see the potential for them to be used for braking and foot jamming purposes withouth any real degridation. Will i buy them over some cheaper models ove run for years. Likely not. Unless they save me from a broken foot or something another shoe wouldnt.
