What's the difference between ABEC 3 and ABEC 5?
ABEC is an acronym for a committee that sets standards for bearings. Higher numbers mean higher tolerances (and price). For example, ABEC 3 balls are in tolerance to 10/1.000.000" vs. 5/1.000.000" found in the ABEC 5.
How does this affect me?
Higher tolerance bearings are smoother and faster. With precision, the balls will support the bearing better and increase life expectancy.
