Description

Overview

Loaded with features and ready for any excursion the Cleanskin Hip Pack is the best way to keep the weight you need to carry lower on the body and closer to your center of gravity. With its comfort waist belt, 2L bladder and compression straps to adjust the volume, this carry system will have you sorted for 2 hour rides all the way through to overnighters.

Features

8L capacity.

This generous volume ensures you can stay prepared for anything that happens on the trail. Pack your pads, jacket, tools, snack, water, and more. Both the main pocket and front pocket feature internal sleeve to organise the items you are carrying.

2L Bladder

Carry up to 2 liters of liquid in the bladder included with the Cleanskin Hip Pack. The bladder design features a slide top design for easy filling and a sure seal. Press the button on the valve and bladder junction and the bladder unclips easily from the hose so you can fill the bladder and then reattach it.

Magnetic Hose Clip.

Attached to the bladders hose is a magnetic clip to keep the hose in place through rough terrain and to make it easier for you to drink on the go and place the hose securely back into place without needing to look down.

Comfort Waist Belt.

The waist belt is both wider and elasticated, ensuring the bag is more comfortable to wear than hip packs with only a thin strip of webbing.

Breathable Construction.

Durable mesh and perforated foam have been used to allow the heat from your body to disperse away from the contact area of the bag.

Compression and External Carry.

External webbing straps allow you to compress the pack into a smaller unit to ensure the contents stay held in place while riding. These straps also allow you to carry items externally if you run out of room inside the bag. This can be particularly useful for bulky items like kneepads and jackets.

The Bladder is actually only 1.5L

I was a little disappointed, as I bought this over the Camelback option due to is being 2l, but when it arrived, it was only 1.5L. Only a couple of rides so far. The uncovered back feels cooler than a backpack. The 2 stage belt is probably required to keep it tight on the hips, but makes putting it on and off slower than with a backpack. so doing things like putting keys in the pocket after you are already wearing it is quite tedious. There is heaps of storage for tools and other items.

Drinking from it is also somewhat more difficult than a back pack. You really need to suck on the mouth piece to get more than a sip. Raising you hips and getting your head low helps so you are not sucking uphill.

This will probably only be used on shorter rides, and I will get another back pack for epic rides.

    Cleanskin Hip Pack

We ride the Whakarewarewa forest a few times a week and usually are trailing behind a pack of feral 9-10yr olds. We got this bag to carry snacks/bribes, clothing and all the detritus of riding with kids. As a 98KG rider getting the weight down lower and not creating a heat sink on the middle of back was a key reason to get a hip pack. This pack has been epic for meeting all our goals as well as being really comfortable. Lots of space to store items for any longer rides and enough pockets that you can organise items into seperate parts of the bag. I've loved the wide elasticated strap on the rides so far and will be using this pack in the Whaka50 coming up in October! One of the niggles I haven't liked is that the bite valve flow rate is a little slower than other packs I have.... a first world complaint if there ever was one!
