Description

The Wheels Manufacturing Open Bore Adapter, also known as a drift, is used to press cartridge bearings in to bottom bracket cups, hub shells, freehub bodies and suspension frame pivots. Each different adapter has a smaller diameter that inserts into the centre of a bearing and a larger diameter section that matches the outside diameter of the bearing.

When used with a bearing press, the adapter presses against the races of the bearing properly to align the bearing and prevents damage as the bearing is pressed in.
These are sold individually (2 drifts required for some installations) Check bearing part numbers before ordering.

    Good tool

    Works. Used a 3/8" length of threaded rod and some nuts to make a bearing press with 2 of these. Expensive for what it is but save a lot of hassle.
