Description

For once the bike industry has given us something we've been asking for... A wide range group-set that you don't need to mortgage your house or sell your last kidney for.

Introducing Microshift's Advent- 1 x 9 group-set with a wide range cassette, clutch mech, and matching shifter. YAAASSSSS! Best thing of all this group-set will leave enough money in your pocket for a ride trip this weekend!

Don't let the minuscule price tag of the Microshift Advent RD-M6195M 9 Speed Clutched Rear Derailleur phase you. This thing has all the features a clutch derailleur needs and real riders want. A fully repairable and adjustable clutch that can be turned on or off. Precise cable pathways which result in a consistent feeling shift lever across the whole gear range. A durable build with a focus on function not fashion and a wide range capacity. Music to my ears...

Who's this item for: Enduro, Trail, E-biker's, Gravel riders or anyone who wants a wide range group-set on their bike. This is only one piece to the puzzle though. You also need the MicroShift Advent shifter and Cassette to go with it.

Number of gears: 9- wait, only 9?! YES NINE!?! Welcome back to the world of easy gear tuning and the carefree lifestyle of 'Oops I dropped my bike, but my gears are ok!'

Weight: At 378-grams it's a bit portly but thats ok!

Materials: Plastic body, aluminium outer link material, Steel cage material.

Chain and cassette compatibility: The derailleur is designed to work with the Microshift Advent CS-H093 9 Speed Steel Cassette and a 9-speed chain. A Shimano, SRAM, or KMC chain will work just fine.

Max cassette range: Compatible with 11-42T and 11-46T 9-speed cassettes.

Clutch style: This is where things get interesting. The clutch uses a proprietary ratchet-and-pawl tension assembly. This ensures a more durable clutch and stronger chain management over rough terrain. This modular design is also fully repairable and easy to adjust. Oh and you can turn it on and off which makes removing the rear wheel easy as! Simply push the switch to the 'open' circle and the clutch is disengaged.

Cage length: Medium cage.

Jockey wheel tooth count (top / bottom): 11-tooth top and 11-tooth bottom.

Pros: Wide range on a budget. Easy to tune gears due to wider tolerances. It has a clutch!

Cons: It's a bit heavy and looks a bit agricultural but we don't hold that against it. We also can't guarantee if you drop your bike your gears will be fine. Will only work with Microshift shifters.

    Microshift Advent Derailleur

I can’t fault this piece of equipment, it is 9 Speed (allowing for an excellent spread of gears in my opinion), shifts faultlessly, has a clutch and best of all, is the price is right.

In fact, I was so impressed with the Advent Microshift Derailleur that I replaced my original derailleur (broken after tangling with a large stick at Daisy Hill) with exactly the same model.

    SOLID PERFORMER

Just finished first trail ride after converting 26er with trusty XT triple front to single 30 tooth narrow/wide.

Replaced rear 9 speed XT shadow(no clutch) with Advent 9 speed. NO MORE CHAIN SLAP-Brilliant! Chain retention awesome.

Fun factor thru the roof!. Used 11/42 cassette.

Shifting is concise, (Used shimano opti shift cable and housing) not quite as light as Shimano but shifts every time spot on .

Derailleur really does look bullet proof.

Straight forward install. Shifter isnt I spec compatible but didnt have any trouble finding comfortable position alongside new SLX brake lever.

NOTE ,9 speed has a long cage option with 47 tooth range which enables fitting of wide range double on front if thats your thing. As far as I am aware AdventX 10 speed doesnt offer this option.

    Outstanding for the price

Quality piece of engineering, the clutch great, purchased with a cassette and shifter, the whole package looks great and works just well, would recommend the 9 speed microshift package and dealing with MTB Direct was a breeze.

    Faze, not 'phase'.

    *faze, not 'phase'

Whoever heard of anyone being fazed by a lesser price? Which this is not, but the description and layout of the website is very good - thanks.
