Microshift built the Acolyte 8-speed, 12-42T cassette to give you all the range you need to challenge yourself. Whether you’re climbing the Cascades or the neighbourhood sledding hill, all you have to think about is where to put the bike – Acolyte will take care of the rest. And yes, it works with a standard HG freehub body and a normal 8-speed chain

    Better quality than the Box 4 8sp!

    I bought this to get a better gear range from my Surly Karate Monkey when I put a CYC Motor into it recently. The Microshift cassette is built better than the Box 4 I used briefly, it has 3 pins holding the cassette together rather than just 1, and shifting is crisp and smooth using the rest of the Box 4 group. Really happy with this.
