Description

Faster! Grippier! is what the Maxxis factory team riders asked for, and that is what they got with the Maxxis Ardent Race.

Designed to fit in between the Maxxis Ikon and the regular Maxxis Ardent it's a great choice front and rear for an XC race or makes a great rear tyre on a trail bike. The ramped centre knobs are closely packed and of a medium height to provide great rolling speed and plenty of grip.

Keeping the same stepped side knob design as the regular Ardent offers lots of gripping edges in loose or soft terrain whilst turning.

Skinwall/Dark Tan Wall tyres: Maxxis has made a running change to replace all Skinwall tyres with the Dark Tan sidewalls. During the transition phase, there is a chance that stock from our suppliers may contain a mixture of both sidewall types so you may receive a shade that is different from what you expect. If this does happen please get in touch and we'll do our best to get you sorted with the option you'd prefer ASAP!

    Solid performance.

    Got this to pair with the Crossmark on the front of my son’s bike. A good combination and a solid rear tyre.

    XC tyre on a trail rig

    Tyre performed as expected, with a lot less grip than my traditional MAXXIS Dissector on the back, but achieved the expected roll over resistance improvement for more XC style racing.

    And it can handle a lot more punch than the aspens

    Rapid Round Rubber.

    It was my first time. I was a bit nervous, but once I held it in my hands, the suppleness melted away any fears I may have had. It slid onto my rim with ease and I was able mount it gradually, using just my hands. A dozen solid pumps and it was on. There were a few noises as every curve locked into place, but it was a perfect fit. We were ready to ride. The more I tried to break traction, the more it held on. Pushing me higher and faster than I've ever been before, I quickly ascended every peak. After 2 hours of sweaty bliss, I returned home fulfilled. Yep, these Ardent Race tyres are the shiz. Matched with the standard Ardent on the front of my hardtail, they more than cope with the terrain on my home trails. Would recommend.
