Description
Already trusted by some of the world's best riders, the Fox Launch D30 Knee-Shin Guards have been fully redesigned with D30 protective inserts to increase the level of protection and make them even more comfortable to wear than the previous generation pads. D30 inserts provide flex and comfort until they encounter an impact when they lock up and provide protection more like a solid polymer.
Who's this item for: The Launch D30 is for gravity riders that require a high level of protection from their pads. While the main focus is on downhill protection, the anatomically-shaped and asymmetrical design is intended to provide pedal-friendly comfort.
Protection Style: These are a knee-shin soft pad with D30 protective inserts and excellent leg coverage.
Materials: D30 padded inserts handle protection duties while the main bulk of the pads are made from perforated neoprene.
Closure or Slip-on: They are a strap-on pad with hook and loop adjusters on the thigh, calf, and upper ankle.
Length of knee pad: A precise measurement isn't provided but the top of the guard should extend a few inches above the knee and extend all the way down to the ankle to provide full knee and shin coverage.
Protection level: These are CE Certified as providing EN1621-1 Level 1 Protection.
Removable protective inserts for washing: No the inserts on these pads are not removable for washing.
Pros: Excellent protection for the whole lower leg. A great choice for flat pedal riders that keep mincing their shins.
Cons: Due to the extra amount of coverage a knee-shin pad is always going to be a little on the warmer side and the velcro fastening will irritate if you have a bunch of pedalling to do.
