Description

Now you can have the chain security and range of your mountain bike on your Road or Cyclocross bike!

The Wolf Tooth Components Tanpan allows any bike running road style shifters to work with Shimano Shadow Plus Clutch type derailleurs. Designed in conjunction with the geniuses at Lindarets, the Tanpan works with Shimano drop bar road shifters and increase the amount of cable that is pulled per shift to suit mountain bike derailleurs. This is perfect for commuter, road, gravel or cyclocross bikes that want the simplicity of a single chainring, and the added benefits of possible increased range and chain security offered by clutch equipped Shimano derailleurs.The lightweight (17g) Tanpan is manufactured in house at Wolf Tooth's Minneapolis facility and is equipped with a quiet delrin roller running on sealed bearings. A CNC machined body, stainless steel bolt and an indexed barrel adjuster round out the top quality package.

The Tanpan comes in two versions,

The SH-10 is for 10 speed drivetrains and the SH-11 for 11 speed drivetrains. You can run a SH-10 on with an 11 speed derailleur or a SH-11 with a 10 speed derailleur with a minor decrease in performance. Running a Tanpan with a SRAM 1x11 X-Actuation derailleur will result in a moderate decrease in performance (and attrocious cable routing!)

    Gravel bike tanpan

    This is the go to for building a 1 x gravel bike. 105 shifters with mtb derailleur plus the all important tanpan yeah baby

    Does a perfect job

    Nice and astute mechanical piece.

    I use the 11 speed one on my rigid drop bar 29er (Shimano STI hydro levers front, SLX 11 speed derailleur rear).

    Inline setup, It is smooth as, Once set up, you just forget it's there.

    I would be great to be offered with a protective sleeve against mud/rain (so I built one myself).

    Be nice if they thought

    Be nice if they thought of these when releasing the original Tanpan Negotiator or shipped them out to those that bought them originally. Works perfectly, nice machined fit on the Tanpan and the cable end.

    I was able to turn

    I was able to turn my old 1x10 MTB into a drop bar Monster Cross bike using the Tanpan and a set of road levers.

    Works well, love being able

    Works well, love being able to run 36t XT MTB gears with the shadow+ clutched derailleur on a cyclecross-frame commuting bike with drop bar STI shifters.
