The Stage Knee Guard is the latest protection offering from TLD. It provides moderate impact resistance in a slimline, packable form factor due to its use of an EN 1621-1 certified D30 protective insert. The chassis of the pad is articulated for optimised pedalling dynamics and the Fitlock compression calf band and honeycomb design silicone leg gripper ensure that the pad stays in place.

Who's this item for: The Stage Kneepad sits in the middle of the TLD protective range. It offers better impact resistance and more shin coverage than the Speed pad and is more pedal-friendly than the Raid pad. The Stage sits right in the sweet spot that makes it perfect for aggressive trail riding and Enduro racing.

Protection Style: This is a slip-on pad with a visco-elastic D30 protective insert. The insert is soft and pliable when pedalling but stiffens up under impact to provide a moderate level of protection.

Materials: D30 protective insert, silicone leg grippers and a stretchy lycra material that holds the pads snugly in place.

Closure or Slip-on: These are slip-on style pads so there are no straps. They will need to be the perfect size to ensure that they stay in place without being annoying or restrictive.

Length of knee pad: The precise length isn't listed but the top of the pad will extend a few inches up above the knee and the lower portion should provide partial coverage for your shins.

Protection level: These pads use an EN 1621-1 certified D30 protective insert to provide moderate level impact protection.

Removable protective inserts for washing: The insert is not removable for washing.

Pros: A low-profile pad that provides a substantial enough amount of protection for most riding and will be comfortable enough to pedal around all day. If you do need to remove them they can easily be stashed somewhere without taking up too much room.

Part of the packaging also doubles as a TLD branded front fender for your bike which is a pretty nice touch.

Cons: Slip-on pads require the fit to be spot on to work properly so there may be some trial and error involved in getting the size that works best for you.

Note: Please take care to not pull the knee pads up your leg from the top of the pads as you would a pair of socks. The material is not designed for this and may cause tears. Damage to the knee pads of this nature may not be covered by the manufacturer warranty. We recommend pulling up knee pads from the top and bottom of the pad with care, in a way that avoids stretching the mesh or damaging the stitching.
