Description

The Al Grounder is Schwalbe's new tyre that sits somewhere between tourer, commuter, e-bike and gravel with true all-round capabilities.

Suitable for use on roads, paths, dirt track, and easy trails the Al Grounder has been designed to roll quickly and quietly and give you enough traction and stability off-road.

The Double Defense construction provides high levels of puncture resistance and the Al Grounder provides equal parts grip and durability making it a great choice for many riders who aren't dedicated off-roaders.

Who's this item for: Commuters and Tourers who want a bit of off-road traction for their travels in addition to puncture protection and great rolling speed.

Suggested terrain use: Excellent on roads, great on a hard-packed dirt track, good on a gravel road and okay on dry trails.

Which wheel: Happy on either wheel, but you could pair it with a front with more bite as it would make a great fast rolling rear tyre for smoother trails.

Suggested Rim width: The 2.35" variant would be fine on anything 17mm to 30mm internal width. The 2.6" variant needs a bit more width and is recommended for 22mm to 35mm internal width rims.

Weight: 29 x 2.35" - 1090g, 27.5 x 2.35" - 1020g, 27.5 x 2.6" - 1150g

    Schwalbe Al grounder

    Easy to mount .Very good on the road,smooth rolling tyre.Have only used them on a gravel road and provided good grip,although I bought them as a road tyre for my mountain bike.

    Very happy.

    Excellent Road Tyre

    Bought two of these tyres F&R. Fitting was easier than expected, was able to push onto the rims without tools. Tyre performance was excellent, low rolling resistance and provided a good level of comfort with 50psi pressure. Happy with the purchase.

    Amazing grippy fast rolling tyres!

    In fact in a route mostly road or path which i used to travel with my "knobby" mtb rock and mud style tyres, where inused to clock an average time of 1hr. With these tyres I could easily clock 50mins and have more stamina left. This was a fact after 3 consecutive runs. Great tyre for road or fine gravel

    good road tyre

    strong compound and takes corners well, however my only issue is it is absolutely unusable below a certain pressure so do not expect to get a crazy amount of grip on the occasional dirt/gravel - other than that great tyre
