The K1153 from Kenda is a value tyre offering that will suit a range of wheel sizes and tyre widths. This tyre utilises a fine, grippy profile with many small profiled blocks to boost grip and reduce rolling resistance on the trails.
K1153 also features a 5mm thick K-Shield protection insert to guard against sharp rocks that could puncture the tread.
Who's this for: These XC rated tyres are made for bikes from 20" to 29" so will suit a range of riders from kids bikes to the weekend XC warrior.
Suggested terrain: Hardpack and loose over hard. This is a relatively low-tech cross country tyre at heart.
Which wheel: Could go on the front or back depending on the application. If you're starting to ride some steeper, techier trails consider a wider, more aggressive option for the front wheel.
Pros: Solid entry-level XC tyre at a wallet-friendly price point. Grab two of these for less than one of some other competing brands. Available for six different wheel sizes!
Cons: Knobs may not be aggressive enough for when the trails get fast and loose.
