The Prime 9 range of components from Box has made many people rethink what a 9-speed drivetrain is capable of. Providing riders with all the range of a 12-speed setup but without the complexity, weight, and excessive shifting, Prime 9 drivetrains are also far more affordable. You can ride them hard and not shed so many tears when something inevitably wears out or breaks.
Box Three is their best all-rounder drivetrain that offers excellent performance and durability at a wallet-friendly price point.
Single-shift groupsets have been designed with e-bikes in mind and feature a 12T smallest cog rather than the 11T found on the multi-shift options.
Who's this item for: This is for riders looking for all the same range as a 12-speed setup with the simplicity and weight savings of a 9-speed setup. It's a great choice for those wanting to bring an older 2x/3x drivetrain bike into the 12 century without needing to re-mortgage the house.
Compatibility: Single-shift groupsets have been designed with e-bikes in mind and feature a 12T smallest cog rather than the 11T found on the multi-shift options.
All Prime 9 components are cross-compatible with other levels across the range. All of these components can be purchased separately if you want to mix and match with other Box Prime 9 parts.
Works with 10,11, or 12-speed Shimano, SRAM, and most other brands' narrow/wide chainrings (you must use a Prime 9 chain).
Each Box Three groupset includes the following components:
- Box Three Prime 9 Speed Twin Lever Shifter
- Box Three Prime 9 Speed Derailleur
- Box Three Prime 9 Speed Chain
- Box Three Prime 9 Speed Cassette
Rear derailleur Specifications:
