Description

The Back Country Research Mutherload Frame Mount 1.5 Inch Strap takes everything that riders love about the original Mutherload and increases the width of the strap from 1" to 1.5" to provide an even more secure hold for your gear. This is great for when you're carrying heavy items, or simply want the most secure frame-mounted gear strap available.

The strap retains all the benefits of the dual shock cord retention system to hold your gear securely in place, even when it's not attached to the bike. You won't have to fumble around trying to keep everything in place while you're strapping it on and it won't all fall out as soon as you loosen the strap.

To Load: Centre the tube on the strap and pull the dual shock cords up and over the ends of the tube to lock it down, flip everything over and slide in your choice of C02, mini pump, multi-tool, or levers.

To Mount: Attach your bundle where you want it with the tube and shock cords facing the frame. Feed the slack end through the buckle and cinch it down. You may want to wrap the area you're mounting it to with some tape or frame skin to prevent any marking to the finish over time.

Who's this item for: Any type of rider looking for a minimalist and effective way to carry spares on your bike when using a saddle bag or carrying a pack isn't the preferred option.

Things you can carry: The strap is sized to fit a standard tube either by itself or with your combo of choice. Most riders tend to go with a tube, a 20g C02 cartridge, and a couple of tyre levers but you could carry a multi-tool, or a mini pump instead.

Mounting locations: This will really depend on the design of your frame and where you have space to mount the strap without it interfering with the action of your rear suspension or your water bottle.

Mount Type: The strap is essentially a 1.5" wide strip of nylon webbing with hook and loop material and a plastic buckle on the end so you can cinch it down onto your frame wherever you have a free location. When installed correctly the strap will not move, no matter how wild your riding gets.

Summary:
  • Quickly and easily mounts anywhere on your frame
  • 1.5" width grips even better than the original 1" strap
  • Adjusts to accommodate frames as small as 4" in circumference (steel frames) all the way up to a 9" carbon frame.
  • Intuitive on/off design
  • Available in a whole bunch of colours to make your bike, kit, or personality.
  • Easy to clean by hosing it off or throwing it in the wash.

    Well made, expensive

This will hold things to your frame and is well made. It's also really really expensive and doesn't hold things as well as the Oneup silicone rubber straps, which you'll get 2 in a pack for a quarter the price.
