Dollars for Dirt - November 2018

Dollars For Dirt

Each month, we select three groups who are doing excellent things in MTB in Australia. We've recently DOUBLED the amount of funds we put forward - so now each month, we put $1,200 on the table, and we ask our customers to vote to decide who gets the funds.

Each group gets at least $300, but the group with the highest votes at the end of the month scores $600!

Garigal Gorillas (NSW)

https://www.facebook.com/GarigalGorillas

"We are a gravity-based MTB club with loads of awesome group rides and social events for young and old. We became an open group recently to highlight the large numbers of riders supporting the need for more trails on Sydney's northern beaches."

Ararat Dirtriders MTB Club (VIC)

https://www.facebook.com/araratdirtriders/

"The Ararat Dirtriders are a MTB club who formed almost 6 years ago to work closely with Parks Victoria in our local area to give locals and visitors somewhere fantastic to ride, promote fitness and encourage others to get out and utilise a part of the area that was previously not used by many. We are deep into getting our trails legalised after a recent World Trail assessment and are formalising plans for an exciting network to further encourage people to visit Ararat or stop and ride on their way through. We could use a $300 donation to help us promote and host our COME AND TRY DAY to encourage people to ride the trails, enjoy the outdoors and join our club!"

Castle Hill MTB (NSW)

"The crumbling and dilapidated trails in the Sydney region of Fred Caterson Reserve are now in the safe hands of Castle Hill MTB! A new section of MTB Trails recently found by us and we have taken up the initiative to get organized in this new location and maintain and improve on everyone's favourite riding spot. The trails are looking better than ever but there is still a lot to do and this comes with its costs in tools and lumber for new obstacles, so far this has come out of personal funds from the group but any donations are greatly appreciated so we can all enjoy the Fred Caterson trails. Castle Hill MTB would use these funds to build up our local public tool supply so when dig days and events come around we have not only enough support but enough tools and timber to maintain these trails."
