Dollars for Dirt - January 2020

Dollars For Dirt

Each month, we select three groups who are doing excellent things in MTB in Australia. We've recently DOUBLED the amount of funds we put forward - so now each month, we put $1,200 on the table, and we ask our customers to vote to decide who gets the funds.

Each group gets at least $300, but the group with the highest votes at the end of the month scores $600!

Pedal Heads Inc MTB Club (TAS)

http://pedalheads.org.au/

The Pedal Heads Inc MTB club members are ambassadors for our sport. We actively promote the social and physical benefits of riding bikes with friends. We advocate for the development of sustainable and high-quality MTB trails in the North East of Tasmania. We recognise the impact MTB riding has on young people and we are committed to junior development. We are committed to providing a range of quality events, promoting the area and providing opportunities for our junior members. Through the strength of our club volunteers we will collaborate with all levels of government and community groups. With consideration of the environment and long-term sustainability we will ensure that our sport and trails are managed and constructed responsibly.

The money would go towards many things, such as helping fund juniors sign up membership fees, race fees and skill development days, events, trail design, build and maintenance.

South Coast United Mountainbikers (NSW)

https://www.scum.asn.au/

We are SCUM, proud members of the South Coast United Mountainbikers Club. As the name suggests, we are a group of riders who like nothing better than to get down and dirty, riding trails we lovingly maintain in the forests around Nowra NSW. We welcome male and female riders of all ages and abilities. We regularly host mountain bike events in a range of formats which attract large numbers of riders from all over.

SCUM is a proud club with a long history, and a great bunch of people who love to compete, or just get together and ride in a social atmosphere. Our network of trails is extensive and we can cater for any standard of rider, from the B-line beginner to the A-line expert, and all points in-between. We are the first point of contact for any visitor to the south coast of NSW wanting to explore some really great rides.

Mountain Biking Bundaberg (QLD)

https://www.facebook.com/bundabergmtbclub/

Mountain Biking Bundaberg is a small and friendly club with some great trails in the Cordalba State Forrest. We would use the Dollars For Dirt funds for trail maintenance and upkeep, as well as for planning and creating new tracks.
