Dollars for Dirt - December 2019

Dollars For Dirt

Each month, we select three groups who are doing excellent things in MTB in Australia. We've recently DOUBLED the amount of funds we put forward - so now each month, we put $1,200 on the table, and we ask our customers to vote to decide who gets the funds.

Each group gets at least $300, but the group with the highest votes at the end of the month scores $600!

Talbingo MTB Club (NSW)

https://www.facebook.com/groups/307530943177148/

We are a new incorporated mountain bike club that is in the initial phases of applying for land manager approvals, developing a master plan, fixing existing trails and promoting the amazing area we live and ride in. Our small group just attended a trail building/design weekend with the Jindabyne Trail Stewardship and Craig Stonestreet so that we can take the knowledge gained to build trails in our amazing area.

We would apply the Dollars for Dirt fund towards our trail justification and master plan document, but more than likely we would also buy some trail building tools as what we have now is what the individual members have.

Cape Range Riders (WA)

https://caperangeriders.com.au/

In a small town of just over 2000 people, Cape Range Riders is a mountain bike club of approximately 40 members. Our trails are made from rugged limestone rock and are long single tracks that overlooks the Ningaloo Reef. We are a very diverse group, with womens rides, kids coaching and riders of all ages and abilities. The riding is amazing, but the members are what makes this club so special.

Over the years, we have obtained bikes for underprivileged children to use and beginners to the sport to try out our sport. Our next stage we want to do is buy a shuttle trailer to get our riders out to the trails. The trailer would be able to carry up to 12 bikes, take trail building tools and have a BBQ for social events at the end of a ride or the end of some trail maintenance

Southern Downs Mountain Biking Club (QLD)

https://www.facebook.com/sdmountainbikingclub/

The Southern Downs is on the Border Ranges of QLD and has some beautiful areas to ride. We have a great enthusiastic bunch of members that are currently talking with our council and national parks in regards to building some amazing trails in our region. We are very much hoping to make our region a mountain bike hot spot with beautiful wine country and great brewery's to take advantage of it all.
