Giro Montaro MIPS Helmet
Description
The Montaro MIPS is the result of years of building top helmets for mountain bikers.
It's designed to cover the needs of trail, all mountain and enduro riders. Featuring additional coverage, a compact shape and the secure yet slimline Roc Loc Air fitting system. Anti-Microbial and hydophilic pads that can suck up to 10 times their weight in sweat wiil help to keep you dry too. 16 channeled cooling vents teamed up with the very minimalist fitting system will keep your melon cool too.
Like to run goggles? This is the helmet for you. Strap grippers at the back keep your goggles in place, while the POV visor is specifically designed to be able to be pushed up enough to alloy your goggles to sit underneath.
Full camera or light mount integration as standard too with a very smart break away interface.

Great helmet, good value.

Really happy with the fit, feel and visibility. Good ventilation, but will need a hotter day to prove that more.
Giro Montaro. - Awesome helmet

This is my 3rd Montaro as they are such great helmets. Giro just seem to have nailed it on design and comfort and at the right price point. Highly recommended.
Skid lid with attitude.

Had this helmet six months now and still stoked with it. When I bought the helmet I noticed on some reviews that people were complaining about the sweat band delaminating from the Velcro. I note one of the other reviewers has sewn his up. Good idea. Mine started failing after about two months and gave up at 4 months. I cleaned and dried mine and used wetsuit glue to fix it so there's another option. Good as gold now. Would still recommend helmet even after that as it's super comfortable.

After doing my homework on various types of Mountainbike helmets I decided on the Giro Montaro MIPS Helmet because it had a few things that stood out from some of the others, 1/ being the excellent moisture wicking inserts and the easy adjustment of the straps, solid mounted visor with firm rigid locking bolts on each side... 2/ Mips of course and the fit was as they said like a glove, adding to this the robust structure with just enough air flow over the top of my head allowing cool flow through ventilation so I was never overheating, even in 35 degree trail rides... I am very happy with this helmet and I like the fact that I can get new inserts when they eventually give up the ghost... all helmet foam eventually gives up and having the option to purchase new ones was another winner in my eyes... I also liked the added protection down the back of my head and it doesn't impede my neck when I am looking upwards on a steep climb... I would recommend to anyone if they're thinking of getting a good quality high end mtb helmet to not look past the giro Montaro.
Skid lids have come a long way since I first started riding

My third Giro helmet in my riding journey and still just as comfortable as my first one. Good to see MIPS technology being used for bicycles. I haven't had any really hot rides in the Montaro but it's done a good job so far to keep sweat out of my eyes. Nothing worse than a nice salty drop of water in you eye as you are rocketing down your favourite piece of down hill. A nice weight, really good fit and the colour combo helps stand apart from the other riders.
