Yakima Holdup Hitch Bike Platform Rack - 2 Bike
Carry 2 bikes with ease on this solid and reliable platform rack from Yakima.
If your vehicle has a 50mm hitch receiver the Holdup is an excellent option for carrying anything from a 20" wheeled BMX to a 29" Enduro machine. The beauty of this design is that the bike is clamped on via the front wheel, eliminating any contact with the frame or precious componentry and speeding up the loading process. Each tray is independently adjustable so you can offset the bikes to avoid any clashes, which allows you to carry a wide range of bikes without any fear of them being damaged in the process. The rack comes with its own lockable hitch pin and each bike has is own cable lock to help prevent opportunistic bike theft while you duck into the shops or grab a sneaky beverage before/after your ride (not recommended for extended/overnight use though). The whole rack tilts down to allow access to the rear of your vehicle and it even includes a built-in bottle opener. Winning!
Can be converted to a 4 bike rack with the addition of the Yakima Holdup Plus 2 Bike Rack Extension - See link below!
Also see the link to the Holdup Evo rack if you want to transport 29" wheels with tyres wider than 2.4"

Exceeded Expectations

This Yakima hold up bike platform is so easy to use and keeps the bikes held solidly with almost no movement while driving on even the harshest off road tracks, very impressed with the quality also.
It's a beast

Awesome quality and a great price. Don't know why I bothered with a cheaper rack this beast holds my enduro bike and my downhill bike at the same time. And my 29 x 2.6 wheels on my enduro fit snuggly. You won't be disappointed
Good but with caveats.

Easy to load the bikes onto with minimal time wasted at either end loading or unloading and this rack serves the purpose however there are issues.
The rack is easy to assemble but heavy. It is securely fixed using the bolt and lock on the hitch. A pain if you have to remove the rack regularly. It will probably obscure your number plate which may be an issue.
Bikes sit close together and the rack will need aligning to avoid them touching.
An additional strap to secure the front wheel to the rack for 29'ers is advisable as there is a chance to tyre will come out of the frame (see you tube reviews).
On my Nissan Terra (Navarra based SUV) when driving on rough ground my bike with 800mm handlebars would touch the rear window if stowed nearest to car, not good.
Despite all the above the rack is solid and secure. The one key lock system is good although the cables could be longer. It is easy to load up and unload once set up and the price is reasonable.
One of the best bike holders going around

One of the best bike holders going around!!
There’s some small things that could be improved but the loading / unloading of bike, fit and carrying ability makes this a must for any rider wanting to take two + bikes.
If it was going to be 100% perfect:
1. Rear Tyre strap needs a ratchet (like the new Thule Proride roof rack)
2: Use the standard towbar attachment instead of the threaded one (ease of use for those who take it on and off)
3: Dedicated number plate mount
All in all 4 / 5
Extremely quick loading

Every thing about the Yakima Holdup bike carrier for 2 bikes is extremely quick, fitting it to the car, loading the Bikes, and securing them to the carrier. I like to keep the bikes in very good condition and with this rack there is no way the bikes can get damaged. It is great that if you get to a riding spot and unload the bikes and you don't like the riding it doesn't take very long or much effort to reload the bikes and move to another location. Also if you have to drive the car without bikes on the carrier it folds up out of the way very quickly. Extremely happy with it.
