Description

Introducing the Wolf Tooth ReMote Sustain: The ultimate upgrade for your RockShox Reverb dropper

The Rockshox Reverb is a beautiful post, but the team felt it was somewhat let down by its hydraulic remote. Couple that with the incredible success of the Wolf Tooth ReMote, and the Sustain was born.

Cable actuated for fuss free use, and the legendary ergonomics of the ReMote. With this combo, Wolf Tooth have improved tactile feedback, reduced the overall height of the Reverb by a whopping 40mm (compared to connectamajig version) whie still leaving all the hydraulic internals of the post itself intact.

Details:

  • It's a leak-proof, robust, and low-maintenance mechanical actuation system
  • Easy cable detachment for service or shipping
  • A 40mm (1 5/8in) reduction of in-frame height when compared to Connectamajig-equipped Reverbs
  • Straightforward installation for the intermediate mechanic
  • Reverb Stealth generation A2 and B1 compatibility
  • Included Jagwire polished stainless steel cable and housing

...and brings with it all of the benefits of the class-leading Wolf Tooth ReMote including:

  • Wolf Tooth's low-profile, high-traction lever
  • Easily-installed UpFront cable fixing
  • A large-diameter 21mm ball-bearing pivot
  • Our low-torque Cable-Kind Clamp
  • A rattle-free integrated cable adjuster
  • The industry-first breakaway pivot axle
  • Available integrated brake lever mounting for Shimano I-Spec and SRAM Matchmaker X brake levers

I had high hopes for this lever, but am disappointed.
1). It’s a thumb breaker - the actuation pressure Is excessive.
2) The ‘small’ loss of fluid during install- per the Wolftooth video - is not irrelevant - my reverb now has developed the dreaded 5mm drop so needs a rebuild. Not a simple install therefore!
3) The thumb paddle grooves are over sharp - combined with the excessive pressure it’s gloves only.
4) The cable doesn’t like the sharp bend in the bottom of the frame - likely to need regular cable cover replacement else the actuation pressure get even worse. It would be simpler to bleed the reverb 1x option!

For the money, join 1,000s, ditch the reverb and get a brand x or some other better system.

Do it.

I originally swapped over from the original push button remote to Rock Shoxs 1X remote but after multiple bleeds and a hose change I was still needing to bleed the remote every month or so.

I was sick of that and wanted a simple cable actuated remote so purchased this one. Very easy install for anyone use to working on their bike and so far it’s been the right choice.

If you are looking at upgrading from the original push button remote then this is a no brainer, if like me you continue to have issues with the new hydraulic rock shox remote then this is a solid mechanical solution which works much better

Fantastic Lever...awkward cable movement.

Loving the wolf tooth remote so far. It's such a big improvement over the old button type lever.
Big fan of wolf tooth products as they are always of high quality.

One thing worth noting is that the sustain actuator does cause the cable housing to move a bit (as stated in the instructions). This doesn't get along too well with my stealth routing as its causing the cable housing to catch and cut against the routing hole in the seatpost.

Not a huge deal but just something to be mindful of. Just check your routing hole for barbs / sharp edges and round them off before installation. A possible alternative is to work out a way to keep some slack in the housing within the seat tube.

Safer Ride

The Wolf tooth Sustain Remote is easy to get used to as the lever is exactly where it should be and you will drop the post more often. It is safer as well because your thumb is staying lower under the handle bar. The seat returns quicker as the action is a bit more on/off than the under bar mounted plunger that I had prior. (the lever is the Light Action model in this kit)

Easy to fit. Excellent quality. Styling and graphics are on point. The remote has worked flawlessly. I think it actuates the post quicker than factory remote. Easier to remove post due to cable connection mechanism. Could not be happier

Excellent.
The recent cold weather has no effect at all on the cable actuated remote. With the OEM remote I would always get slow seat post in cold weather no matter how carefully the remote was bled.
