Goat Links replace the direct mount link or B-Pivot knuckle on Shimano Shadow + Derailleurs to optimise the derailleurs position when using larger cassettes or extended cogs.

10 Speed Information:

Why purchase a new drivetrain when you can increase the range of your Shimano 10-speed setup?  The Goat Link compliments the Wolf Tooth Giant Cog for Shimano 10-speed drivetrains.

We recommend this item for riders who are using the GC extender cog with their Shimano 10-speed drivetrains.  The Goat Link re-positions the derailleur optimising shifting and improving longevity.

Compatibility:

  • The GoatLink will only work with Shimano Shadow+ (clutch) 10-speed rear derailleurs which use a Direct Mount link or B-pivot knuckle with a thickness of 7.9-8.1mm.  Shimano made a running change in 2013, Shadow+ derailleurs purchased in 2013 and earlier will need to confirm fitment.
  • Direct Mount-native frames are not supported.
  • SRAM derailleurs are not compatible.

Specifications:

  • Eliminates the need for a longer b-screw.
  • Stainless Steel mounting hardware included.
  • 7075-T6 aluminium.
  • 19g

Improvements:

Chain Wrap at 11t (effects cassette life):
40t:  Improved by 69%
42t:  Improved by 53%

Free Chain at 11t (effects shifting precision):
40t:  Improved by 25%
42t:  Improved by 19%

11 Speed Information:

The Goat Link 11 is optimised for using a 10-42 SRAM Cassette, with Shimano Derailleurs and Shifters.

It also provides advantages for anyone running a GCX 44 cog on their SRAM cassette too.

Compatibility:

Cassette    Compatibility
11-40     Not Required
11-42     Not Required
11-45     GS/SGS Derailleur
11-46     GS/SGS Derailleur
10-42     GS/SGS Derailleur
10-44     GS/SGS Derailleur (Wolf Tooth GCX44)
10-45     Not Optimised
9-44       Not Optimised

Other notes:

The GoatLink 11 is compatible with M8000 (XT) and M9000 (XTR) series eleven-speed Shimano rear derailleurs.
The GoatLink 11 mounts only to standard derailleur hangers.
Double chainrings (2x) is supported and requires a long cage (SGS) rear derailleur with no more than a 12t difference in front chainrings (with an 11-46 cassette).
Triple chainrings are not supported.
Direct Mount-native frames and SRAM derailleurs are not supported.

Expanding your 10speed to a wider cassette

Excellent solution for expanding your 10speed to a wider cassette

The all time GOAT of derailleur extenders!

by

Get ya big gears on with this sassy little link. Works well with a 11-46 10-Speed cassette and Shimano Shadow+ derailleur. Helps get my lazy arse up the hills! Crisp shifts and easy set-up. Stop ya moaning and get one.

Pricey, but a nice birthday present for an M8000 Derailleur

Swapped out for the standard direct mount screw on a m8000 long cage derailleur and now shifts into the dinner plate 50 tooth on an 11 speed sunrace cassette like a dream. The extra 10ish mm stretch out back this link provides over the standard shimano direct mount screw is a good upgrade if you dont want to pony up for the jump to 12 speed but still want to run a modern big boy cassette with the larger gearing range and maintain the butter smooth shifting up the top the way shimano intended it......

Great design, a must have!

Moving up to a 11-42T cassette from a 11-36T when completing a 1x conversation with a Deore 10 speed rear mech this has worked wonders. Great chain wrap, crisp shifts and zero shifting issues. Didn't even need to touch the b screw!

It seems that sometime ago

It seems that sometime ago I replaced my rear derailleur to M985 - clutch mech and the link is designed for M980?? or- site said compatible derailleurs?? - so even after filing and stuffing around I could not get to fit. BUT In the scheme of thing I had a long cage derailleur so I just found a 30mm M4 bolt and cut down to make an extended B screw. I had to turn clutch off to get smooth changes but with the wide narrow front chain ring I had no issue with chain coming off - Just wasted $30 :( oh well live and lean from my mistake - double check to make sure link fits.. Cheers

Fixed my Issues!

I decided that our MTB tandem needed a set of road wheels as well, to give us more speed on the road I chose a Garabuk 10-46 cassette. Trouble was our MTB wheels where Shimano only 11-46. So with the M8000RD there was major shifting issues with the 10-48 Sram style cassette. Enter the Wolftooth Goatlink 11. Simple to fit and made everything just work well without any issues at all, shifts up and down and now clean and crisp with the Sram-Garabuk/Shimano combo and its also works well with either set of wheels without any more tuning. Cheap and simple option.
