Description

If you are in need of a 4 Bolt Chainring, chances are Wolf Tooth have an option to suit. Made from a high-grade 7075-T6 aluminium Wolf Tooth's Drop-Stop Chainrings are one of the best performing and longest lasting wide/narrow chainring options on the market.

Chain Retention Technology:

Drop-Stop technology is Wolf Tooth’s patented wide/narrow chainring design. The wide side of the tooth has maximum contact on the drive side which spreads the load and improves chainring life. The narrow side allows clearance for mud and debris which reduces friction. Alternating wide/narrow tooth pattern prevents chain derailment.

The new Shimano 12-speed chain rings use a different technology than Drop-Stop as the Shimano 12 speed chains are not compatible with the standard Drop-Stop tooth profile. The HG+ chain interacts with the chainring differently than a traditional narrow/wide design so Wolf Tooth took the time to understand how the HG+ system worked before they produced their new Shimano 12-speed HG+ compatible chainrings.

Compatibility and Specs:

102 BCD - Shimano XTR M960:

  • These rings only fit on the M960 crankset in the middle ring position
  • For 1x10, 1x11 and 1x12 drivetrains (including SRAM Eagle)
  • Compatible with all 10-, 11-, and 12-speed chains except Shimano 12-speed chains.
  • If using a 9-speed drivetrain use a 10-speed chain (shifts and works well on a 9-speed drivetrain and fits the ring tighter for better chain retention)
  • 6mm Chainring bolts needed
  • Chainline: 50mm
  • Weight: 32T - 47g, 34T - 56g

104 BCD:

  • Fits any 104 BCD crankset
  • Chainring Bolts: All tooth sizes require 1x bolts that are 6mm long with exception to 30t rings which are threaded and require bolts that are 7-10mm long. Wolf Tooth carries both sizes in a variety of colours
    • 104 x 30t - use 10mm bolts
    • 104 x 32t, 34t, 36t, 38t use 6mm bolts.
    • If using a bashring you will need 8mm bolts (most stock bolts on 3x cranksets are 8mm)
  • 32t 104 BCD chainrings work on many older 2x Shimano crankset (XT, SLX, or Deore)
  • The 30t x 104BCD chainring is the only available ring for the QUARQTM power meter
  • Drivetrains: 1x9, 1x10, 1x11 and 1x12 drivetrains
    • Compatible with all 10-, 11-, and 12-speed chains except Shimano 12-speed chains
    • Shimano 12-speed chains require the use of Wolf Tooth's Shimano 12-speed specific chainrings
    • If using a 9-speed drivetrain use a 10-speed chain. It fits tighter for better chain retention
  • Weight: 30T - 36g, 32T - 47g, 34T - 56g, 36T - 60g, 38T - 66g

110 BCD - Asymmetrical Shimano:

  • Fits 110 BCD Asymmetric 4-bolt cranks
  • Compatible with Dura Ace 9000, Ultegra 6800, 105 5800, Tiagra 4703, and Tiagra 4700
  • Sizes 38T and larger are compatible with Dura Ace 9100, Ultegra 8000 and 105 R7000 but a slight modification is required due to a change in the crank arm profile. The 36T chainring will not work for this modification.
  • Confirmed modification fit with Dura Ace 9100 Power Meter in size 42t or larger
  • Mounts in the big ring position of the cranks but is offset inward for perfect chainline.
  • The stock 2x bolts will not work. You will need Wolf Tooth's 6mm bolts which are optimized for single ring mounting.

  • Chainline 47.5mm
  • Weight: 38T - 66g, 40T - 74g, 42T - 81g, 44T - 90g

120 BCD - SRAM 2x10:

  • These rings fit any 120 BCD crankset or 4-bolt spider.
  • For SRAM cranksets you must use the stock M10x.75 bolts with a shoulder on them. These are not standard bolts and Wolf Tooth's bolts will not work with this chainring. Note that only about 3 threads will engage (same with the stock SRAM rings)
  • The only other supplier of these M10 x .75 bolts is Wickwerks if your crankset doesn't already have them. These bolts actually have more threads engaged and will work better than the SRAM ones.
  • 36t is the smallest number of teeth that fits on a 120 BCD
  • For 1x9, 1x10, 1x11 and 1x12 drivetrains (including SRAM Eagle)
    • Compatible with all 10-, 11-, and 12-speed chains except Shimano 12-speed chains.
    • If using a 9-speed drivetrain use a 10-speed chain (shifts and works well on a 9-speed drivetrain and fits the ring tighter for better chain retention).
  • Chainline - 51mm for 36t and 52mm for 38t (38t is wider for more chainstay clearance)
  • Weight: 36T - 54g, 38T - 59g

64 BCD:

  • Fits any 104/64 BCD crankset (104 BCD is the middle/big position 64 is the smallest ring position)
  • The Universal Model fits both 104/64 BCD cranksets and the Shimano 11 speed XT M8000 cranks and SLX M7000 cranks.
  • Chainline (approximate as BB centering and cranksets vary)
    • Chainline is 46 mm on a triple and 48 mm on a double crank
    • Chainline on a Standard M8000 or M7000 crankset is 48mm and 50mm on a boost version.
  • You will use the stock bolts to mount this chainring
  • 26T - 42g, 28T - 50g

76 BCD - SRAM XX1:

  • These rings fit any SRAM 76 BCD spider or Specialized Stout crankset.
  • Threaded for standard M8 chainring bolts. For the XX1 spider, we recommend the 6mm bolts (or any short M8 chainring bolt). For the Stout crankset we recommend the 10mm bolts or the bolts that come with the crankset.

Wolftooth round 34T chainring fits & works fabulous on my 2022 Specialized turbo Levo SL

Firstly, I must say how impressed I am with the easy ordering & quick delivery process by MTB Direct! I recently bought a 2022 Specialized turbo Levo SL eMTB, & within first few rides decided its 30T chainring is too low geared for my high fitness level (wasn't using first 3 gears & could not pedal down even slightest slope). After fair bit of research into others similar gripes & comparing ratios to my 2016 Stumpjumper (2x10) I decided I wanted to change the Levo SL front chainring from original 30T to larger 34T. Next problem was finding one - SRAM or Shimano don't make them, so finally narrowed into 2 after-market options, & am really happy with choosing the Wolf Tooth 4 Bolt Alloy Drop-Stop Chainring - 94 BCD - SRAM - Round - Black - 34T. Was pretty straight-forward swap over, & now rides fabulous down & up the steepest hills! Note that this is probably largest size that will fit without fouling frame, but it is more better matched with the 35Nm to still give heaps of torque-power if needed.

    Great product no chain drops.

Chainring works as advertised. Shipping is much slower than normal since they stopped shipping from NZ. Still, good service at a good price.

    Chain ring

Second one of these I’ve purchased in over three years. Last the distance and in all honesty only replaced my last one because I changed my rear cassette and drive chain as a complete set.

    Solid entry level upgrade.

Great Quality product. Dispatched from warehouse very quickly. Ordered this for my 2021 Norco Storm, bolt pattern/spacing were correct however the holes need to be drilled out to accept the standard Norco larger diameter mounting hardware. Offset spacer needed to be ground off also in my case.

The product itself is as described and very durable and looks to be made and engineered from quality materials.
