Stop with confidence! If your brakes are starting to feel weak, it may be time to replace your pads.
Type J pads are finned pads to suit Shimano 2-piston brakes. The cooling fins help to disperse the heat so you get less fade under heavy, sustained braking. The same pad shape is available in Type G which is the non-finned version of this pad.
The pads are available in both Sintered - Metallic and Resin - Organic options.
Sintered/Metallic:
Pros:- Less fade at higher temperatures.
- Perform better in wet conditions.
- longer lasting.
- Better for heavier riders and heavy, sustained braking.
Cons
- Less Initial bite
- Noisier
Resin/Organic:
Pros
- Quiet.
- Better initial bite.
Cons
- Tend to wear out faster
- Don't perform as well in in wet conditions.

Great brake pads
by Aaron Markie
These pads have good life and dissipate the heat well. Rarely squeek.
A+ experience

Great consumer experience and great product.
Shimano is the shiznit.
by Grant
Very good, easy to install. Good performance for 2-piston pads.
Good upgrade to the stock deore pads.
by Andrew Reynolds
Paired with Ice Tec rotors to replace tired bits, they are a great upgrade for the stock deore pads, and they look unreal. Need to give these a good run (thanks covid) but even with a little pootle around, the new rotors and pads have made the braking feel a lot better. Excited to get out on these.
rubbish

terrible grip
wear off faster than you can blink
may be okay when you ride to the shops but not for mountain biking
Worth the extra dollars. If

Worth the extra dollars. If your wondering what the difference between Metal and Resin is... metallic tend to grab when hot, making you lock a wheel. Resin modulate more predictably, and rarely bite without you wanting them to. Some may disagree, they work best for me though in XC/XCM/Enduro.
