Just a heads up
by Richard E. -
Bought this pedal and love it, awesome colour and grip, I'm definitely a big fan. Just a heads up to people that do a lot of shuttling. I don't know what the rest of the world is like but in AUS a lot of shuttles use trailers with a simple mechanism that they just drop the bikes crank into a tube and then tie the bike down using an elastic. Due to the large bearing on the inside of the pedal this makes it almost impossible to fit the pedal and crank down into the tube, I have to take my left pedal off and hold onto it before I load it up, then put it back on at the top of the hill. This bit of info might help make up your mind on pedals, but besides that shuttle issue the pedals are insane.
Beward of it coming loose!

The pedal would be top marks if it had not come loose several times. The bolt that holds the pedal body onto the axle has loosend off several times - you can feel the play developing and it's time to tighten it up... although one time i didn't and the whole pedal detached from the axle... not good. Got locktight on it now and will see how it goes.
Race Face Atlas Pedal, 30 days on

Great pedal, no more slips especially the Thredbo rock garden, but arguably more damage to my shins than ever before (more due to stopping on the trail in kicking the pedals, or loading the bike on/off the ute).
Great pedels. Light qnd grippy.

Great pedels. Light qnd grippy. Make sure you check the end caps aren't loose or just tighten them up. Mate lost one on second ride and had to purchase a whole bearing kit which includes them.
Not as grippy as I had hoped

I can't exactly complain too much about the grip; but I'm sure the Afflect pedals had more grip. I may just need new FiveTens.
