When your rear suspension compresses, chain growth is required and because your chain can't grow your cassette tugs your chain backwards resulting in pedal kickback.

The degree to which pedal kickback occurs varies with each bike's suspension design but is present in all MTB rear suspension designs to some degree. Typically there is anywhere from 3° to 15° of backward rotation required by your chainring during suspension compression resulting in pedal kickback. With your weight standing on the pedals this backwards rotation is impeded which has the effect of stiffening your suspension. The more travel you use, the more kickback you'll experience. Pedal kickback occurs during braking as well and is a function of the suspension design and the amount of brake squat or rise, making the suspension even stiffer under braking.

Ochain decouples the chainring from the cranks to allow the chainring to rotate backwards when the chain is pulled by your cassette under suspension compression and/or braking. Each OChain is supplied with a rubber kit to switch between 4°, 6° and 9° compensation which allows you to customise the OChain depending on your travel and riding style, and there is an optional 12° elastomer kit available for DH and Park bikes.

The OChain Integrated is specifically designed for Superboost (157mm rear hub width) applications and integrates the OChain Active MTB Spider with a 56mm chainline Superboost chainring. Please note: These are not compatible with standard Boost drivetrains (52mm chainline and 148mm rear hub spacing).

Main material: Al Alloy 7075 T6

Dimensions: 93 mm x 93 mm x 13 mm

Weight: 148 g

Chainline: 56mm (Superboost only)

Finish: Black hard anodized

Chainring Mount: Integrated

The OChain has a maximum rider weight limit of 100kg.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0575/7052/5229/products/OChain_Integrated_MTB_Active_Spider_SRAM_Direct_Mount_Nero_0mm_Super_Boost_DH_01.jpg?v=1654856528
https://www.mtbdirect.com.au/products/ochain-integrated-mtb-active-spider-sram-direct-mount-0mm-super-boost-dh-nero-32t
